Annual Speaker Series
In 2020, The WC @ MSU held our first annual speaker series on topics of Language and Linguistic Justice following the release of our Language Statement and featured scholars including Dr. Vershawn Ashanti Young and Dr. Staci Perryman-Clark. After the release of our statement on accessibility, the second annual series featured topics of accessibility and featured prominent accessibility scholars like Dr. Margaret Price and Dr. Jay Dolmage. To emphasize our commitment to activism, our third annual series focused on storytelling as activism and featured keynote speaker Dr. Aja Martinez at the 2022 East Central Writing Centers Association (ECWCA) Conference, which we hosted as we celebrated our 30th anniversary. In 2023, our speaker series focused on Writers Across the Curriculum.
